It’s time for my monthly review of the best web app I’ve uncovered online this month. As always, I’m super excited to share with you the product that tops the list this time around.
I manage a soccer club for children in my free time and wanted to take my soccer club Marketing to the next level with interactive, engaging online Brochures.
I’d been putting off creating a new brochure for months. I had relaunched my French school earlier this year, this time with a focus on children, so my old brochures were outdated. I had a few clients already, but I needed to do more if this thing was really going to take off.
See, because I’m “good with computers”, all the simple design work at the office gets passed off to me, and doing the brochure for the company’s family weekend retreat was no exception. There was a lot of information to include, so a simple 1-page flyer wouldn’t do. For some reason, I’ve always hated making brochures.
I made some brochures for my company’s very important product launch using the generic software on my office computer that I use to do everything else. What a disaster! Everyone hated them, and I had to go back to the drawing board with 20 minutes to spare.
The last thing I expected to be doing while exploring the pristine islands of the Bahamas was making brochures! After receiving an urgent email from my manager letting me know that he had not received my strategically sent communication before leaving the office I was stuck in a bad situation.
My cousin Jack mentioned an online platform called Yumpu to me a number of months ago but I didn’t get around to checking it out until this week. Not to be rude or anything, but Jack has sent me chasing after the ‘next great thing’ more than once or twice in the past with the result being me left in disappointment.
While searching for online brochure templates I came across a blog post that resonated with me about the hidden truths of free software on the web. The article resonated with me because the writer echoed my sentiments about how much time could be wasted finding an application that actually worked.
A friend recently asked for help designing leaflets for her new business and I happily volunteered. Little did I know how hard it would be to find software to design a professional looking leaflet for free. I asked myself “how to make a leaflet?” and headed to the forums for some inspiration and read dozens of replies
I’m forever on the lookout for software that makes tedious jobs just a little easier for those of us who’d rather not spend hours on the computer getting things done. This month I want to shine the spotlight on an online brochure maker that is making waves online.
Many of the software companies out there have a lot to learn from Yumpu. The free digital publishing platform recently launched their interactive brochure maker and I’m a massive fan.
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Except when it comes to online software! I had no true measure of the insane proportions of junk that can be found online until I needed to find a brochure making application and winded up trashing every single free app I downloaded or signed up to, one after the next.
A couple months ago I wrote a blog post about how difficult it is to find a free brochure generator that actually works past the point of design flaws and a major headache! I got responses from dozens of people recommending an endless number of online apps they’d found and I tried every single one to no avail.
I’ve always used free software to get everything I needed done. I never thought twice about it, until the software that came with my computer expired at the precise moment I needed it most. Talk about disaster! I needed to create a beautiful, slick brochure for my presentation, and now I was stuck.
Call me Mr. President – I just won the student council election and I wanted to write a little note to thank Yumpu for showing me how to create e-brochure for free…and for helping me wi
Believe it or not, one of the greatest challenges I face in the IT field is recommending to friends and family products that actually work. Most of the time, people want something amazing, with a glittering spectrum of features, but aren’t prepared to pay the price!
Now, I’ll be the first to admit that there is no short supply of free software online specifically targeting the brochure development market. What there is a shortage of, is software that actually does the things that people need and expect it to do in order to deliver on their promises!
My co-worker and I had been using the same brochure development tool to create brochures for an office project for months. When her brochures starting receiving all the praise I couldn’t figure out what caused the shift. Then I realized she wasn’t making regular brochures using Word brochure templates at all.
