The last thing I expected to be doing while exploring the pristine islands of the Bahamas was making brochures! After receiving an urgent email from my manager letting me know that he had not received my strategically sent communication before leaving the office I was stuck in a bad situation.

While searching for online brochure templates I came across a blog post that resonated with me about the hidden truths of free software on the web. The article resonated with me because the writer echoed my sentiments about how much time could be wasted finding an application that actually worked.

As a specialist in the field of architecture, I was looking for ways to compile all my company’s projects together in a unique portfolio. Your projects should speak for themselves. After a long search, I became aware of online software that converts my architectural portfolio into an online magazine. And the best thing is that Yumpu Publishing is easy to use and absolutely free. How to use this software for an architectural project? My first time using the site for architectural projects was interesting. I was not sure if I wanted to dedicate a project for each architectural style, or if I wanted to have a hodgepodge of interesting pictures to share. I had no time to figure it out, so I just put them all together, no matter what style or period. I gave it a try and it was simple. All I had to do was put all my architectural pictures together, and save them as a PDF file. Then, I signed up to Yumpu Publishing and selected the free option. The site prompted me to upload the PDF file. That was it! In seconds, I saw right in front of me a beautiful, interactive magazine in full, crisp color. I could personalize it however I wanted, from giving it a name to just branding everything with the logo and motto of our organization. It was incredible. The thing is that you can actually give the magazine/portfolio a title, which brings a lot of personality to your company. How can people access the architecture portfolio? The moment you have your pictures together, Yumpu Publishing generates the magazine, as...

I’ve always used free software to get everything I needed done. I never thought twice about it, until the software that came with my computer expired at the precise moment I needed it most. Talk about disaster! I needed to create a beautiful, slick brochure for my presentation, and now I was stuck.

My co-worker and I had been using the same brochure development tool to create brochures for an office project for months. When her brochures starting receiving all the praise I couldn’t figure out what caused the shift. Then I realized she wasn’t making regular brochures using Word brochure templates at all.

I am here to tell you about my experience with a really cool site called Yumpu Publishing. As a business owner with experience in the private and public sectors, I figured it may be a good idea to have all my business projects listed in one place that I can share with potential customers, employers, and even future partners. I was not exactly sure how I would pull it off, other than saving a whole bunch of links and pictures into a document that I would, somehow, save in some cloud. With Yumpu Publishing, however, I got more than I could ever think. I was able to upload all my pictures, describe the project and product, and put it all together in an online portfolio of my very own! Plus, they offer storage, sharing, and hosting all in one place. Need I ask for more? Granted, I am no computer wizard. Still, I did not have to call any of my nephews to do the tech part for me. I did it all myself by simply saving my pictures into a PDF file the way I would save any other picture album. Once it was uploaded to Yumpu Publishing, the engine did the rest. The product was a beautiful, original creation that I have never seen before. The best part is that it was free. I only had to pay if I wanted any particular fancy stuff, such as more graphics or more storage. Your own portfolio Forget about cheesy, static flyers that are tiresome to read. Also say goodbye to sending huge files, or boring e-mail links that...
